The patient will be told about potential risks and benefits involved. A second consultation may be beneficial and may clarify further or new questions. A complete medical history will be taken. Sometimes people ask why I decided to go into solo practice while also maintaining Clinical Adjunct Faculty at both Duke and UNC in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The answer to this is two-fold. First-off, I am grateful for the opportunity to operate a solo practice and to have personally hand-selected every member of our highly educated office staff. Our patients sometimes wish to meet with the patient care coordinator first in an effort to better understand their options prior to meeting with the doctor.
