Sometimes people ask why I decided to go into solo practice while also maintaining Clinical Adjunct Faculty at both Duke and UNC in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The answer to this is two-fold. First-off, I am grateful for the opportunity to operate a solo practice and to have personally hand-selected every member of our highly educated office staff. The CARE Plastic Surgery staff are equally as enthusiastic about plastic and reconstructive surgery. Not only are they highly educated, speak multiple languages and have advanced graduate school education, above all they are truly caring. I honestly cannot say that this would be the case if I had chosen to work in a large, busy hospital.
