Driven by a purpose to restore breast cancer survivors to their whole selves, board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Kendal R. Roehl has committed her career to pursue her passion in this field of medicine.Dr. Roehl returned to the Houston Bay Area to serve her community by establishing the Clear Lake Regional Medical Center for Breast Reconstruction. She is a specialist in the field of plastic, cosmetic, and reconstructive surgery of the breast (breast reconstruction), face, and body.Having been exposed to breast reconstruction during her residency at MD Anderson, Dr. Roehl developed a soft spot for breast cancer survivors. This would lead her to her fellowship at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center where she learned free tissue breast reconstruction such as MS-TRAM, DIEP, SIEA, and SGAP. She also learned other forms of free tissue and generalized flap reconstruction for various cancer defects in the skin, head, neck, abdomen, and thoracic; as well as sarcoma tumors and other neurosurgical problems.Dr. Roehl graduated with the highest honors at Sam Houston State University with a double major in Biology and Chemistry. She then received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston. She also completed her Integrated Plastic Surgery residency at Galveston, where she trained in the reconstructive surgery of cancer, burns, and traumas. She also underwent training for cosmetic surgery when she worked with James Stuzin, a critically acclaimed cosmetic surgeon in Miami, FL.In Galveston, she pursued her career in academic medicine and continued in Central Texas at Scott and White, where she would go on to perform numerous breast reconstructions of all types and begin practicing cosmetic surgery.In your daily battles, especially after breast cancer, allow Dr. Kendall R.
